Prominent ear is a hereditary deformity. 90% of the development of the ears will be completed at the age of 6. Prominent ear operation can be performed under local anesthesia in adults. It is more appropriate to be performed under general anesthesia in children. For prominent ear surgery, the age limit must be six years old. The reason why it is not done before is that the ear development has not been completed. The operation takes about 1 hour.
