PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) means blood rich in platelet/platelet cells. In PRP application, platelet cells obtained from the person’s own blood and plasma rich in growth factors are used.
What are the benefits of PRP?
PRP treatment is used for wrinkles, spot formation, acne and scars, skin cracks and hair loss. After the application, a decrease in sagging and wrinkle marks is observed. Applying spot treatments such as peeling and laser together with PRP accelerates the treatment process and supports permanent results.
Is PRP a stem cell therapy?
PRP therapy is not a stem cell therapy. PRP treatment increases the number of platelets that start the whole process. After the application, the fibrin networks formed in the skin work indirectly with stem cells by collecting the stem cells in the environment. Therefore, when the skin is treated with PRP rich in platelet cells, the repair and regeneration process of the skin is triggered.
How is PRP obtained?
In PRP treatment, blood is taken from the person and placed in special tubes. Special tubes are placed in a high speed rotating centrifuge. The centrifuge device must rotate at a certain speed and time in order to obtain rich plasma from platelet cells.
Which patients are suitable for PRP?
PRP can be used alone or in combination with other skin renewal methods for sagging, wrinkles, scars, acne scars and hair treatments that require skin renewal.
How is PRP treatment applied?
In the plasma obtained from the blood taken from the person, the part at the bottom of the tube is the richest part of clot cells and growth factors. Plasma obtained in the treatment of PRP is applied to the problematic area of the skin with the help of tiny needles. After fractional laser and fractional radiofrequency applications, PRP serum can be applied to the skin. In this way, PRP is easily absorbed through the opened pores.
How often should PRP be done?
PRP treatment is done at intervals of 2-4 weeks.
Who is PRP not applied to?
It is not applied to those who have a family history of cancer, those who use blood thinners, those who have blood disease, those who have infection and inflammation in the area to be applied, pregnant women and breastfeeding.
When are the results of PRP treatment seen?
Since PRP treatment is based on the self-renewal of the skin, it is wrong to wait for the treatment result immediately. The results of PRP treatment appear after the second or third session. After PRP treatment, tightening and sagging of the skin, wrinkles, lightening of the skin, shine and scars occur. After the application to the scalp, an increase in hair thickness and a density in rare areas are observed.
Are there any side effects of PRP application?
Since PRP treatment is completely personal, no side effects are expected. The risk of allergies is low.
How long does PRP affect work and social life?
After the PRP application, the person can continue his normal life. There is no appearance that affects the business and social life of the person. In some cases, small and temporary bruises and redness may occur depending on the needles used in the application. Applying ice compresses after the procedure alleviates this side effect.
Can PRP be used with other skin renewal methods?
PRP can be applied together with methods such as laser, radiofrequency, light treatments and mesotherapy. After such procedures, the use of PRP in the form of serum can increase the effectiveness of these methods and shorten the recovery times.
What to aware of after the PRP procedure?
A hot bath is not taken on the same day as the procedure. Sunscreen should be used.
